Will we soon be voting with our Smart Phones?
It would appear that at this stage 37% of Kenyans would consider voting by Phone.
In a poll conducted between the 8th and 15th of February this year, by Ipsos Synovate, the Regions leading pollster, various issues of governance were addressed from a sample size of 2031 Kenyans across the country.
In considering the mode of voting for future elections, 37% of Kenyans would prefer to vote by Smartphone as opposed to making it to a polling station.
Indeed one must note that there are other factors that have been taken into consideration in this initial poll, such as the various demographics.
All the same it is rather indicative that this poll was carried out prior to the Public being sensitised on the innovative M-KURA phone application, , that is already in it's pilot phase.
Thoughts worth Pondering:
- What if those with Smart phones had downloaded the M-KURA App?
- What if they understood the Convenience it offers...The time saving and real time offering of results? Would they not then consider M-KURA?
As M-KURA's team roll out the application, time will tell.
